Sheryl Crow once played a concert stoned - and almost fell asleep.

The country singer, who recently got engaged to cycling legend Lance Armstrong, has admitted to getting high with her bandmates before going on stage - and was so intoxicated the show was a total disaster.

She revealed: "The whole band and I got stoned years ago. It was the eight-hour gig from hell. It seemed to go on and on, to the point where even I was falling asleep."

However, Crow insists she has never been on stage drunk. She added in an interview with America's Rolling Stone magazine: "I can safely say that I've never been tanked onstage. I have a really bad memory, so to remember my lyrics I need to not have my brain obstructed."
