Brooke Shields has revealed she is desperate for another baby.

The Hollywood actress, who suffered post-natal depression after the birth of her daughter Rowan, says she would love to have a second child.

She told chat show host Oprah Winfrey: "I've always wanted more than one child."

Brooke, 40, also spoke out about Tom Cruise's recent criticism of her for using prescribed drugs to get over post-natal depression.

The stunning actress also believes Tom was outspoken in his views just to promote his movie 'War of the Worlds'.

She explained: "His movie was premiering that week, and it just seemed like an appropriate response."

Cruise branded Brooke's use of anti-depressants "irresponsible" and said she should have used vitamins and exercise to help her recover from the baby blues.

But the 'Suddenly Susan' actress told Oprah: "It's what he believes, I guess. I think exercise and vitamins are a very important part of a person's life. But I don't think they would have helped me through my problems alone."

Earlier this year, Brooke revealed she contemplated suicide when she first became a mother. She said at the time: "I really didn't want to live anymore. I was looking out of a window and I just thought, 'I just want to leap out of my life.'
