ELTON JOHN'S NEW TV SHOW (Elton John) Elton John is making a TV show based on himself.
The singer's comedy - which will focus on an over-the-hill rock star, his manager and his hangers on - has been given the green light by US TV bosses.
The project, dubbed "Him and Us," will air on America's ABC network. The star said: "Basically it's about the entourage around a star called Max Flash who have to put up with this b*****d!"
Earlier this year, Elton admitted he also drew inspiration from legendary rock stars like Sir Mick Jagger, David Bowie and Rod Stewart.
He said: "Max Flash is based on me, Mick, Bowie, Rod, all these outrageously behaving rock stars."
But the 58-year-old confessed is keen to distance himself from his previous lifestyle.
He said: "You know, I'm 15 years sober today. That's changed my life. The energy that I used to spend doing drugs and everything, I spend doing great things, like getting up in the morning, going to Tower Records, trying to find new acts, trying to promote them."
"I have the most fantastic life. I really love it so much." (Elton John [10/31/2005])
