Johnny Rotten wants Justin Timberlake to play him in an upcoming movie of his life.

The former Sex Pistol, real name John Lydon, has revealed he thinks the pop heartthrob would be perfect for the film, which is based on Johnny's 1994 autobiography, "Rotten: No Irish, No Blacks, No Dogs."

He explained: "I want Jason (sic) Timberlake to do it. I know it sounds odd and the market he comes from is screaming teen girls, but he's just the kind of bloke who would really, really make an effort."

"He'd be a workhorse about it."

Johnny has admitted he is even in talks with the hunky singer - who recently played a drug dealer in forthcoming movie "Alpha Dog" - to play him.

He revealed to Britain's Q magazine: "Discussions are in progress. It's from a line of true respect."

If Justin doesn't do the movie, the punk rocker has also set his sights on "Trainspotting" star Robert Carlyle or Hollywood actor Johnny Depp, who has also been tipped to play legendary hell-raiser Ozzy Osbourne in another biopic.

Johnny said: "Timberlake or Robert Carlyle. Or Johnny Depp, who's a great mate. He might do it. Or me. I might!"
