Elton John instantly fell in love with David Furnish.

The flamboyant singer, who will wed Furnish in a private ceremony next month, said he was everything he ever wanted in a man.

He revealed: "The relationship felt permanent from the word go and it hasn't changed."

"He was the first person I'd dated who had a great job, had his own place, his own career, and I was determined not to wreck it."

Meanwhile, Furnish has admitted he cried when he told his parents he was gay and dating Elton.

The 43-year-old decided to tell his mom and dad he was gay and dating one of the most famous singers in the world all at once.

He told Attitude magazine: "Oh, they got 'I'm gay and I'm living with Elton John' in the same sentence. I was bawling my eyes out. And I looked over through the tears and they were sitting with a smile on their faces and my mother said: 'Look, it's fine; we can be a family again.'"

"It was only then I realized maybe I was the one putting the barrier between us."
