Jon Voight and legendary soul star Diana Ross are at the centre of a romance riddle - after Voight claimed he is single and Ross confirmed the couple are dating.

Angelina Jolie's father, actor Voight, recently revealed he is single after he and the wild-haired singer appeared at a theatre bash last month hand in hand.

But Ross - who has spent the past six years looking for the right man - has confirmed she is enjoying dating the star.

Her agent Phil Symes said: "It's still at an early stage - certainly too early to say he's the new love of her life. But they have been on dates which they both enjoyed."

However, Voight recently revealed: "I'm not seeing anyone at the moment and I think that, until all the other things are set in place, it's not going to happen."

The 66-year-old also confessed he sometimes feels lonely. He told Britain's Daily Mail Weekend magazine: "I have good friends, of course, but you always feel a little loneliness if no one is there for you."

It was reported Voight and Ross were romancing after mutual friend Motown records founder Berry Gordon set them up on a surprise date together.
