Cheryl Cole has been testing her newly-honed culinary skills on Will.i.am.

The 28-year-old Girls Aloud singer has had the Black Eyed Peas front-man - who also happens to be her manager - round for dinner every night since he relocated to the UK to work as a mentor on ''The Voice''.

In a bid to save him from eating room service alone, Cheryl has been making everything from roast dinners and cakes through to scones and tarts for the rapper.

A source told The Sun newspaper: ''Will.i.am loves the food. It makes a change from backstage catering, restaurants and hotels. Cheryl has always been interested in food but recently started taking it seriously. It's a way to unwind.''

Cheryl was first taught to cook by ex-husband Ashley Cole's mother Sue, who she remains friends with despite divorcing the footballer in 2010 following claims he was unfaithful. And the ''3 words'' hit-maker believes her cooking ability has greatly improved.

She said: ''I am actually pretty good. I like baking. I can do a full Christmas dinner. I find it quite therapeutic.''
