MICHAEL PLAYED HIS LAST EVER LIVE UK SHOWS
08/26/2008
The singer treated fans at the concerts – which were part of his two-year "25 Live" tour and were billed as the "Final Two" - at London's Earls Court on Sunday (August 24, 2008) and Monday (August 25, 2008) to a greatest hits set and confessed it was an emotional experience.
He said: "It's great to be home, I have to tell you."
"When we were last here I think we were probably on show 20 of this tour and I honestly thought it was going to be a three-month tour and here we are two years later."
"You are going to be the recipients of 103 shows' experience."
During the concerts, George played a mixture of old and new songs, including "Fast Love," "Too Funky," "Faith" and "Freedom '90."
The singer also covered Nina Simone's "Feeling Good," which he revealed will be available as a free download on Christmas Day (August 25, 2008).
He added the cover version will be released "along with a new Christmas song that I wrote," dispelling rumors he is set to retire completely from the music business.
George is due to play his last show, advertised as the "Final One," in Copenhagen, Denmark, on Saturday (August 30, 2008).
