had a PhD in lingerie because I would tweak everything to fit me just so.”
Stephanie Seymour
A leading supermodel of the 1990s, Stephanie Seymour is recognized for her long,
graceful legs in modeling lingerie, hosiery, swimwear, sleepwear and clothing.
One of the highest paid and most sought after models in the world, she has
appeared on the cover of Vogue and other high-fashion magazines, in the Sports
Illustrated swimsuit issue, and probably most prominently in the Victoria’s
Secret catalogs. Additionally, one of Playboy Magazine’s “100 Sexiest Stars of
the Century (1998) is well-known for her high-profile shoots for Egöiste and
Versace jeans, by Richard Avedon.
Aside from her stunning career, Seymour has also gained a degree of notoriety
with the reports of her romantic life. As a teen, she got involved with the
Elite Management President John Casablancas who finally left his wife to live
with her. The former Playboy playmate then made headlines with a short-lived
marriage, with guitarist Tommy Andrews, before having a three-year
highly-published romance with the lead singer of rock band Guns N’ Roses, W. Axl
Rose. The two became engaged before splitting up in 1993. Seymour then received
much tabloid and media attention for her relationship with the famed actor
Warren Beatty. In 1995, one of People magazine’s “50 Most Beautiful People in
the World” (1994), Seymour once again created a controversy over her marriage to
producer/publisher Peter Bryant, who reportedly left his wife and his five
children to marry Seymour. From the two marriages, Seymour has three sons and
one daughter.
